I'll be real honest here and tell you it is NOT for everyone. Also it does NOT taste delicious. Depending on what you mix it ranges from okay to eating lawn clippings. It's drastic and outrageous. But... It's working. Since I have started I have lost ten pounds in a week. I was feeling like major crud so I changed to one meal a day and two juices. That way I was actually eating a healthy meal once a day.
This is my first attempt at juicing. Major fail.
Will I continue juicing? Probably. Do I recommend it? Probably not. It's drastic and a lot more painful than you realize. Have any juicing recipes? Share them please! I only have found disgusting ones that make me feel like throwing up for three hours.
As always please consult a doctor before doing something like this!

As a active follower, I think you should include a picture of you tasting/drinking it. :)
ReplyDeleteMatti
I am so proud of you! You've got this :)
ReplyDeleteokay, so please explain exactly what your eating schedule is...like is it Breakfast-juice, Lunch-juice, dinner-meal? Or what
ReplyDeleteI would love to be able to lose 10 lbs in a week and don't mind the taste of juice! My friend just got a juicer for Christmas so we have been juicing it up!Side note...it's a great way to make cocktails!!!
Keep it up sister! I wish I could do that, but i SOOO do not have the dedication! I am glad you do though! You can do it!!
ReplyDeleteYou've made it farther than I. After two sips I quit!
ReplyDeleteOh man, this sounds painful! But SO awesome that you've already lost 10 lbs. GOod job girl!
ReplyDeleteI think I am such a freaking weirdo. You make juicing sound like torture, you say you hate it, you tell us how awful it is, then I see you say you've lost 10 pounds and I'm all like, I should try that!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a weirdo!
Also, how long have you been doing it?
DeleteI think it's the combination of what you put in. My mom juiced for us when I was growing up. Beets, bananas and carrots were my favorite (but they also have a high glycemic index so there's that to consider). Have you tried mixing one of those into your drinks? They lend a sweetness to the juice and makes it easier to go down.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt but you're not putting limes and lemons in there with the rind, are you? That would be HORRIBLE haha
ReplyDeleteSpinach, banana, peanut butter and frozen yogurt. This is as close to juicing as ill get but it's soooo good!
ReplyDeleteYou can do this!! Try spinach carrots and apples too!
Xoxo

You are the second blogger I have seen that has started juicing! I started juicing close to a year ago, and love it. It sucks majorly in the beginning. Its so hard to keep up with. For the comment about rinds, I did add some rinds in to my juice for the nutrients. Orange rind has lots of nutrients in it ;] Just not too much or it will taste awful! Hahah.
ReplyDeleteI lost 15lbs doing a 15 day cleanse. Forgot to add that ;]
ReplyDeleteHello! I found you through Pamela's Heavenly Treats - I love your blog header! I'm your newest Twitter follower :) Good luck with the juicing... I've never tried it before - good luck!!
ReplyDeleteWe did this to start 2012 and LOVED it. My husband does it about once a month as a "cleanse" and I'll do one when I'm feeling extra yucky from too much fast food. We always used the whole fruit/veggie, rind and all! That's where most the goodies are.
ReplyDeleteTry cucumbers!! They make a ton of juice and aren't bad at all. I'd like to think apples and cucumbers together taste like a watermelon. (oh and they are cheap! lets be real this juicing thing gets expensive!)
This post had me laughing. I've juiced before but I haven't done a full fast because I need to be able to feel like crap without working and I wasn't willing to do so over my Christmas break as I'd originally planned.
ReplyDeleteI can say the juices I've had have been good, I started juicing via a stand however that would know what to mix and get me saying I don't want anything disgusting so for a while I'd buy a mix of, I forget the exact veggies two green, carrots and pineapple for sweetness and to my surprise it was really good. At home I've tried beet and apple and again to my surprise really good. Right now I'm doing green smoothies and they haven't been that great or that bad, my fruits aren't that sweet so they're a bit bland with me not wanting to add anything to them and it's likely just that I've adapted to drinking them that I'm able to without being disgusted.
But to answer your question on recipes, there is a youtuber by the name of rawrawlife and she was selling at one point a booklet of juice recipes for $1 I believe. She also has vids on her juice fast journey that I found helpful although I still have not fasted myself I'll get there tho and I'll be keeping up with your blog to motivate me:)
I've added your a link to this post to this months link-up (http://www.pharr-away.com/2013/01/monthly-measures-1.html#more) as I believe it will be helpful to others and hopefully it'll send traffic your way as well.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll join me monthly for this link-up (1st MONDAY of each month), if you have time!
